Gobi Top Box

The Gobi top box arrived on Friday. It didn't take long to install it on the bike. At first glance it looked huge, but it's actually quite neat and tidy once installed on the bike. And joy oh joy, the laptop just fits.

The instructions state that you should take your top box for a ride to ensure it is securely locked onto the bike. Not needing to be asked twice and with Saturday being such a beautiful day, I decided to ride to Mungo Brush, take the punt across the lake and ride the Wotton bends.

I set off, crossed over on the punt and then a very bumpy  5 or 6 klms on gravel until I reached the bitumen going into Buladelah. The bends at Wotton were a total blast, although there were a few green bits.

I'm happy with the Gobi, I checked the fittings after the ride and they were secure.

After talking to Russell, I've decided to get a Spot tracker, works as an Eperp as well and much lighter than the standard Eperp. I particularly like the fact it will send an Ok SMS to family when you don't have phone coverage.
