Day two - Urunga to Burleigh Heads

A very lazy chilled out day. I put my wets on and of course it rained most of the way. I may be stupid, but why is it that waterproof boots are not waterproof, nor are waterproof wet weather liners, nor the Gortex jacket. As Pauline would say, "Please explain?"

Today was a latte ride aptly named by Chris Spangaro, nice breakfast with the Herald and a generally cruisey ride  north. The road from Kyogle through to Murwillumbah was riddled with pot holes, such a disappointment as this twisty road would normally be a great biking road, but it seems worse each time I ride through.

I stopped at the Show and Shine Cafe and Deli at Murwillumbah, great coffee and food. Roasted artichokes, smoked mushrooms, bell peppers stuffed with buffalo mozzarella and home made sour dough.

Arrived at my brothers tonight and I was treated to home made shepherds pie for dinner.  Finn is coming along for a couple of days.

Burleigh Heads is not exactly rural, its much like Bondi or any other Sydney beach side suburb. Unusually, Finn has a random rooster living in the tree at the front of his house. Said rooster has just woken me up and the rest of the neighbourhood.

Riding towards Mackay today via Maroochydore, catching up with old friends along the way.

KILOMETRES TRAVELLED - 360
